Just asking a few questions in a quiet, inward way. This sort of thing —
What is real…? And what am I, really…? What is so real that it never moves or changes…? What is so real that it IS before we are…? Yes, what is Real — ? — what is really, really REAL…?
Not in words, not in thought, not through study or effort —
— but beyond the reach of all words and thoughts is a stillness-of-the-mind, a wordless awareness that can only be called Peace. And in that Peace all questions melt away — and then there is no more need for verbal answers…
Finding Peace is only learning to rest, beyond the reach of all words and thoughts — and then BEING that rest. It may take time and a lot of quiet enquiring but it is entirely natural. For Peace is what we ARE, always were, always will be — so it is only a question of remembering this…
Perhaps by quietly asking questions — but only those questions that point beyond questions, back the way we came, to what we really ARE… Don’t be put off by that little word “quiet”: quiet enquiry is full of words when they are needed! How can a few words — or even a lot of them! — disturb what is REAL, the Peace that is beyond all questions and answers…?
